For Your Viewing Pleasure

So as everyone enters into their weekends - here are a few new summer programs that have been entertaining me.  Some I'm more embarrassed about than others.  And some are old favorites and some are brand new (at least for me)!

RHONJ & RHOOC - ok seriously I know these are old faves, but both of these seasons have been amaze!  I'm really loving them and I've been bored slightly in the past.  One of my fave moments was the ski slope fight on RHOOC - I mean who can really take anyone seriously in ski goggles?!  I was dying.

And on NJ - shiz is getting rulll - rull quick.  Rosie is like front and center this season and a few of the others have taken a much needed back seat.

America's Got Talent - there I said it.  I admit I kinda like it - it's grown on me.  I think the judges really interact well and the acts have been kinda incredible.  I think my favorite right now is Collins Key - he's such a cutie!

And I do love  a few of the kids acts and the one comedian that is so dry and awkward you just can't help but laugh.

Below Deck - now this is actually a really bad show - but it's like a train wreck, I really can't help it!  Every week I need to find out what happens on the next episode!

Camp - this is another new one that is really kind of growing on me.  And it's not reality TV, so there's that.  But it's cute and mindless, so you need a few of those in the rotation.

The Vineyard - now I've only seen one episode of this, mainly because there's only been one, but it's terrible.  So basically that means it's right up my alley.  It's another reality one that takes place on Marth's Vineyard and all the people work at Black Dog.  It's very intellectual and deep.

Princesses of Long Island - I can't.  This show - ridic.

It's so grating and their voices drive me bananas, but it's just that ridiculous that you can't not watch.  Some of the lines on it are priceless and so obscene - aka "only poor people mix cheeses" - like what does that even mean?!

It's beyond not only offensive but doesn't make sense and just ridiculous.  And one of their boyfriends I'm pretty sure is gay, so they need to check on that.

And of course the tried & trues like the Kardashians - loving Brody's involvement this season!  Giuliana & Bill - so glad these 2 are back!  I just can't help but love them!  And Duke - what a cutie - so happy!!  It just doesn't get old for me.  It's been a lil more "hokey"/staged this season than I like, but obvi still gonna watch it.  And Franklin & Bash which has just added on Heather Locklear - it's great as per usual.  Happy viewing!!  AND HAPPY FRIDAY!!

Obsession Thursday...Is This A Thing?!

So I have a new-ish obsession.  Actually I have a few…so maybe I'll just grace you all with them!!  It's been a lil while, and my apologies, BUT…you know what…I won't even give you an excuse.  There are none.  Just the usual suspects - so I'll spare you.  Onto "Obsession Thursday" - yep - just made that one up - if you guys like it - I'll stick with it!!
1.  World of Jenks.  Ok so this isn't really "new" per se, but it was new to me this season.
The season just ended and I'm already in withdrawal.  It's MTV at its finest.  Sydney and I are beyond enamored.  Basically this guy, Andrew Jenks (who I may or may not want to marry) follows 3 different people around for a year and documents their lives/struggles.  I also may or may not have tweeted @AndrewJenks and I'm desprerately waiting for a reply...nbd.  It's soooo good and I highly recommend you all getting involved!
2.  Face Stuff.  So my sister actually turned me on to this product line.  It's Aveda, which I normally don’t use, but I'm actually really liking it.  It's thier "Outer Peace" line.
I wound up getting the whole set, because it just made more sense economically, but it is slightly $$.  I think it's worth it thought - so give it a try if you're looking for something new/makes you feel really clean.
3.  Kiehl's.  Again - nothing really "new", but I have 2 new products that I'm totally hearting.  Ultra Facial Moisturizer with 30 SPF and Amino Acid Shampoo.

The moisturizer is especially good with the summer coming up!  I can't stress enough how important sunscreen is!!  I'm not trying to go all "mom" on you, but PLEASE slather some on before you go outside.  This makes it soooo easy, all you have to do is moisturize (which you should do every morning anyway)!  And the shampoo smells delightful and leaves my hair shiny, bouncy & all together amazing.
4.  Iced Coffee.  That time of year again!!  Loving a big 'ole iced coffee with milk!

I more recently (over the past year) forced myself off of adding any extra "sugar" or chemical to my coffee.  If you can stomach it - I highly recommend it!!
5.  Kale & Spinach.  At first they taste like paper shreddings (especially the kale), BUT I've actually grown to like them.  And there's a salad place around here that has kale & cabbage as the "base" and might I add that it's delightful, especially with everything added in.  I made myself (I've apparently been doing a lot of that lately) try it instead of my usually romaine and I've been able to stick to it!  And actually - I've been liking it!  Who knew?!

Ok - so that's it for now!  I hope all my OK readers and doing alright - my thoughts and prayers are with you all.  Just reminds you how precious life really is - take time EVERY day to tell people you love them and show them how much they mean to you.  XOXO

A TV Night To Remember

First things first - I can't stop singing "Don’t Go Chasing Waterfalls" today.

In my head - obvi - at least I hope it has only been in my head and I'm not caught belting out "please stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to…if at any time he's in a jam she'll be by his side but he doesn't realize he hurts her so much…" No clue why I have this in my head- don’t judge me.

Second - so last night I got sucked into the most RIDICULOUS show. Like insanity. I'm not sure if it's new or I just haven't seen it - either way - cray cray! It's called "101 Ways To Leave A Game Show". Seriously - if you haven't seen it - for the pure shock value - you need to watch it. Basically the contestants and asked questions and eliminated when they get the wrong answer. However - it's the WAY they get eliminated that is the insane part - as per http://abc.go.com/shows/101-ways-to-leave-a-game-show/ : "Contestants are eliminated by being dropped from the top of a building on a window washing scaffold, yanked and flipped off the side of a building, or dragged away by a speeding limo."

Oh, I'm sorry…what?! How is this a)legal and b)safe?! Here is a clip of my favorite elimination - "Crazy Stunt Driving": (I'm having technical difficulties right now - so just follow the link until I can work through this!!!!)

Crazy Stunt Driving
Seriously - the show is simply ridiculous. You HAVE to watch it to believe it!

Third - following that shocking situation I turned on the next - Teen Mom. Now the new season of the "original" cast has started and again - train wreck. I just can't stop watching. It's not even that exciting - but I just need to know what happens! Here are my thoughts:

Maci: She's really trying to do the right thing. I think it's good that she's trying to be in school and raise Bentley. I'm a little skeptical of her and Kyle moving in together - not because he's a bad guy - quite the opposite. I just feel that they are rushing things a bit. And Ryan just needs to grow up and stop acting dumb.

Farrah: Can't stand her attitude. The girl is so spoiled and mean. I don’t understand it. Her lash outs are inexcusable. After her boob job her father/step father/Michael was trying to help her and she was yelling and crying and screaming. Really?! Pull it together! I know you're prob in pain - but you WANTED this surgery! Don't yell at him for helping you and taking care of your child. She's nuts!

Catelynn: Oh Catelynn - she is trying so hard. Her and Tyler are like to little kids bumping along. They had to grow up too quickly and I feel sad for them. I want them to just win the lottery and get away from their crazy situation!

Amber: Saved the best for last! Really?! She needs to get her shiz together!! First stop with the "cussing" (I hate that word) around your child! And if you and Gary drink out of one more styrofoam cup - I swear - do you not own glassware?! All you do is drink/eat take out! I can't take it anymore!!!

Like I said before though - I can't stop! I need to find out if Kyle & Maci live happily ever after.

And Catelynn & Tyler can last in that apartment for more than 2 months.

And Farrah - will she get another modeling "job" that requires her to smile and wear an ugly blue dress?!

Lastly - Amber - will they every stop "cussing" and was it a good idea for her and Geeeerrryy to move back in together after only being back "together" for 1week?!

So many questions!!

Anywho - happy Wednesday you crazy kids! We're almost to the freaking weekend!!

Bills, Bills, Bills

Today I had a few interesting moments.  Another installment of “bills, bills, bills”!
  • In my office building at lunchtime they bring in a piano player to play in the lobby.  I think it’s a little odd – but whatever sometimes it’s nice to hear the music.  Normally they play things like show tunes – a little Beauty & the Beast, sometimes Billy Joel, things in that genre.  So today I go down to head out to grab my lunch and guess what was playing??  “I Wanna Know What Love Is” – oh, I’m sorry, what?!  What the heck kind of song is that to play at lunch piano time?!   Oh I also think it’s worth noting that the “pianist” was about 45, with long curly Michael Bolten-esque hair.  He was also swaying back and forth and mouthing the words to the song.  Awesome.
  • I then go out to grab my lunch at the salad place down the block.  As I’m calmly walking – singing the rest of “I wanna know what love is…” in my head, this woman comes flying at me.  She was about 80 and heading straight towards me on her Razor scooter.  I’m sorry – I thought that those went out in 1998.  She was sailing along on the sidewalk and almost rolled right over me.  Good thing I have cat-like reflexes and was able to jump out of her way!
  • When I got back to my office I came across this website – which completely changed my afternoon.  It’s a blog called – I’m Remembering – and it’s pretty much a legit “blast from the past”.  I was totally enthralled.  It’s all about toys, games, foods, etc. from our growing up era.  A few things caught my eye – things I haven’t thought about in awhile.

This actually still gets me through my hung-over Sundays - reruns!

My sister actually had one - totally jealous!  It was mint green.

I mean - Rainbow Brite - it doesn't get much better!

We all had one - mine was a fabulous purple/pink.

I totally heared my sticker book - don't worry I had Michael Jackson stickers - Thriller!!

Best before bedtime snack in the summer!

What are some of your things you’re “remembering”?
  •  I made this great dinner tonight – totally low carb/fat.  I’m kinda obsessed and it was ridic easy and quick!  It was Deep South Shrimp & Sausage.  I subbed the turkey sausage for chicken (it cut the fat that much more).  I just ate it without any “sides” – and it was perfectly filling.  A simple salad would be a good accompaniment, too.

  • I then rounded out my evening with a few episodes of Modern Family.  That show – honestly – I can’t even stand it.  I literally laugh out loud EVERY TIME!!  I. Just. Can’t.  So freaking hilar!  I don’t have that many shows that I have this reaction to – but this one – gets me every stinking time!  Cam’s facial reactions are priceless and all of the characters are just so on point!  If you don’t watch it/aren’t a fan yet – do yourself a favor and watch it/enjoy it!

"Bills, Bills, Bills"

I'm not 100% why this title correlates with this post, and consequently there will be future posts with this title, but this quote just came to mind.  While I was in college and we lived off-campus in this most amazing White House - whenever we'd get bills, I'd run through the house yelling "bills, bills, bills" in this monotone, low, weird voice.  Coco totally loved it!  Actually she hated it, but we still say at “appropriate times”.  So don’t ask me why I need to call these posts this – just deal with it.  Ok, getting back to the point…these posts are going to be about things that I might not have been able to form a whole post on, but I still feel they are important enough to share.  So may I introduce you to the first installment of "Bills, Bills, Bills".
·     While I was walking to the gym last night there was a man walking on the sidewalk next to me.  He looked normal enough and then we got to a light and not so normal anymore.  While we stopped at the crosswalk I looked over and he began brushing his teeth.  Yup - full on brushing.  So the light turned and we could cross.  He puts the brush back in his pocket while we cross the street - no cover or anything just back in his coat pocket.  I'm thinking "wtf?!".  So we get to the next light - stopped.  We're shoulder to shoulder.  I glance over.  The brush comes out again - now I'm gagging because he put the dirty toothbrush back in his mouth.  Now my interest has peaked.  Light turns - brush back in we cross the street.  I try to get a lil closer to him to see what the hell is actually going on.  He smells minty fresh - brush comes back out and then its time to spit -basically he does a "drive by" spit tactic and keeps on walking brush back in coat pocket.  Then I realized I almost passed my gym and I'm still confused as to what exactly just happened!
·     Every morning on my way to work, I pass this woman who walks 2 dogs - they are lil white dogs.  Oh you're thinking - "why is that weird?"  Well my friends let me tell you.  It's weird because she has dyed their tails and ears - one pink and one purple.  Why on Earth would you do that you ask?  Simply because she needs to tell them apart.  I'm sorry - isn't that what collars are for?!  Leave those poor things alone!
·     I went out to dinner with my friend Juan last night.  I was meeting him at this restaurant and while I was waiting for him, I stood by the bar area.  They were playing a pretty good music set and I glanced over to see this guy banging his cane - yes his cane - to the beat of the song that was on.  Pretty sure the song was "Under Pressure" by Queen & David Bowie- yup - it has a good beat - great for cane banging!  Also while at dinner I realized how old I'm getting and quite possibly I might be losing it.  I kept telling Juan that I was going to see a band called "Orchard Grove" on Friday - pretty sure it's "Ocean Grove". And I told him all about this place in the West Village called "Olive Oil" and what an amazing dinner I had there - one problem it's called "Extra Virgin".  Both things I was saying with such conviction that despite his questioning and not thinking that "Orchard Grove" and "Olive Oil" were the names - I was like no you just prob haven't heard of them - you're so not "New York".  Pretty sure I'm losing it!
·     Again while walking, I overheard a man ask this woman if she "took her dog out in the bad weather".  No sir, she lets the dog pee all over the house, totally normal, I mean it is raining outside!  WTF kind of question is that?!  No, actually she only takes her dog out when it's sunny and 76 degrees - perfect "dog weather"!
·     My gym is a lil cray cray at times and there are 2 things that have struck me recently.  1.  There is an older man that comes in everyday, in like full on clothes - I'm talking boots, flannel shirt, pants, etc.  Everyday he gets on the bike (usually next to me) and just sits there and watches TV.  Now I'm not sure if he's homeless, just telling his wife he's going to "work out" or what his deal is, but I have yet to see him even pedal!  And he'll sit there for like an hour at "peak time" and people are waiting to get on the bike!  2.  I was on the Elliptical and this woman saunters up next to me.  She was like all kinds of "perfect" and thought that she was just the shiz and some.  So she gets on the Elliptical next to me and busts out like a whole 2  minutes and decides she's had enough, I mean why break a sweat?!  Especially when you're in your tight lil (I stress lil) outfit and all and your hair is down so you look "just so".  Well she was getting off and thinking she was hot stuff when she forgot how to get off an Elliptical and twists around and plants herself on the ground.  Like she went flying off, legs twisted, lands on her hands and one knee - one leg still on the Elliptical.  Her water and towel go flying.  I of course stopped, turned around and asked her if she was ok, trying desperately not to laugh.  She gave me an attitude and said she "was fine"!  Well lady - Karma's a bitch, isn't it?!  Maybe if you weren't so rude to people and thought you were all that and a bag of chips (haven't busted that one out in awhile) then you would be able to remove yourself from your Elliptical in a normal fashion!
I hope you enjoyed these lil snippets of my crazay life.  I'll collect a few more, I like to keep a running tab, and then you'll get another installment of……BILLS, BILLS, BILLS!!
