2 Quick Things!

Hello world!  Today is gorgeous out - I only wish I was able to enjoy it and not be in this stupid office all day!  Wahhh!  Ok enough about that.  So 2 things today.  1.  I'd be remiss if I didn't give my input on last night's finale of RHOBH and 2.  Have I discussed my new favorite blog(besides mine)?!
1.  RHOBH
Ok I had mixed feelings about this.  I thought the finale was going to be dramz and angsting and tears galore, but it was really pretty subdued.  They didn't address a lot of issues that I thought they would and 3 of the "main" women were hardly/not even shown.

Did anyone else think it was odd that Brandi, Kim & Taylor were basically left out of the whole episode?!  Because I sure did!  I know technically Brandi is still "new" and doesn't have that much status yet, but she was a main focus of a lot of what went down this season.  I just thought that was weird.  And where the heck was Kim the whole time?!  Taylor I get - I think the wedding was around the same time as Russell's death, so totally understand.  But Kim didn't go into rehab until like December, right?!  I'm so confused!
Anyways…Pandora looked gorg and just so happy - so did her new husband.

I actually got a little teary when Ken gave his speech.  I thought the whole event was breathtaking - just amazing.  I'm just a lil upset that my invite got lost in the mail.  Side note - what is going on with Lisa's son??  They discussed him last season, but not so much this season.  I'd like a status update on him and what he's doing with his life.  Thanks.
All in all I thought it was a good season.  As much drama and craziness that happens - they still do appear (operative word here is "appear") to be pretty close.  Also last season I really was not a Camille fan - but this season she really made a comeback!  I enjoyed her and I thought she was so nice and dramz free - totally turned around my opinion!
2.  Suri's Burn Book
This is one of the main reasons that I'm so sad that I can no longer look at blogs at work.  However, this is also one of the only ones that I still keep up on - at home!  Whoever writes this is pure genius and I want to meet them/be their friends.  Basically it's a blog written through the eyes of Suri Cruise and it talks all about the other children of Hollywood.  Although I hate her disdain for some of these kids (i.e. Garner-Afflecks, Alba-Warrens, Stefani-Rossdales, etc.), it makes Suri sound like such a lil biznatch - kind of like I'd imagine her to be.  She also takes major offense to ANYTHING the Jolie-Pitt children do.  And the best part is that she also makes fun of her parents - which is hilar.  It's the most ridiculous read I've read in awhile!  Here's one of the latest excerpts:
Jon Voight, grandfather to the Jolie-Pitt brood, told E! News he sees a future for his grandkids in the entertainment industry.
“I don’t want to say, but I have a feeling that they will,” he admitted. “I have no doubt.”First of all, “I don’t want to say” is different from, ahem, saying things. Just like “having a feeling” is different from “having no doubt.” I’m five and I can construct a proper sentence, Mr. Voight.“Hollywood should be afraid of them. These guys are really something.”Oh, I’m afraid of them, all right. But not for the reasons their grandfather suspects. These kids are just so unpredictable and off the rails — you never know what they’re going to do, and that frightens me. As for their talent? Highly doubtful. Unless there’s some market for professional public pajama-wearing that I’m not aware of.
I mean - I die!  Get after reading it NOW!!!
So that's all for today!  Until next time sukkkkahs!  XOXO

JUST SAY THANK YOU AND WALK AWAY!

By now you are all aware that I have a short list of blogs that I follow religiously. One of them, of course, is "Hay Girl Hay". I totally heart this blog and sometimes I feel like this girl is just speaking my mind! It's really bizaro! Anyways - the other day this was one of her post and in a few words I thought "why do you have my life?!" This is what the post said:

Just say thank you
When someone says something nice to me, it’s like I have a syndrome that causes me to negate what they just said by pointing out some flaw.
Cute shirt? Oh thanks, I like it because it’s loose and doesn’t cling to my food baby.
Your hair looks great? That’s weird, I didn’t wash it today.
I love your jeans? They’re five years old with a hole in the crotch.
What is that? These things fly out of my mouth and I can’t help it, but I’d like to.
Learn to take a compliment, idiot.

Sooo basically this is me to a T! I catch myself doing it all the time and it's something that I consistently "struggle" with. Like I have to in my head say "STOP LIZZIE - JUST SAY THANK YOU AND WALK AWAY!" You can imagine my surprise when I realized that others have the same "disorder" that I do! These are actual/daily conversations that I have with people and this is the look I get all too often:

Person: Oh I love that skirt - so cute!
Me: Thanks - it was like a dollar on sale - so cheap - I mean I paid nothing….
Aftermath: Why did I have to explain the monetary value of this skirt?! Why did I feel a need to justify that I paid for clothing?! I sometimes feel like because I wear certain clothes people think that I'm some "rich bitch" - but hten I have to remind myself that: a) most likely that isn't their "angle" and b) I can barely pay my rent and c) most of my clothes ARE on sale from Banana or J Crew - I know - I'm wild and d) the other portion of my clothes are gifts - from my parents - there you have it!

Person: You look pretty today.
Me: Really I feel like train wreck! I got no sleep - I'm so heinous - please don’t look at me!
Aftermath: Again - simply say thank you! Just take it and go with it. Why do I have to convince people that I don't look pretty?! What is wrong with me?!

Person: Great job on that presentation!
Me: Ugh - I felt so unprepared like I put it together in AN second! I hope I didn't embarrass anyone by how awful I was! Thank God it was just for you guys!
Aftermath: Well basically just give me my pink slip now! Why can't the words "thank you" formulate in my vocabulary. It's like the verbal diarrhea of how to get yourself fired and make everyone re-think their original "great job" thoughts!

I mean those are just a few examples of my daily struggles. Ohhh the trials and tribulations of being me! Sometimes people walk away from me and prob think I'm a complete and total insecure lunatic. Which I'm not necessarily saying I'm not - I just think I portray more of it than I'd like to. It's def on my list of "things I need to work on"! I have to repeat it over and over again in my head - like a mantra - JUST SAY THANK YOU AND WALK AWAY!

Things I Heart On The Interweb

I've received a few requests to do a post about different blogs/sites I like to frequent on what we like to call the "interweb".  I didn't include the obvis, such as Perez Hilton and Facebook (which I hope you'll all "like" this page…just saying!).  Basically I get to work every morning and before I start my actual "work" I have to go through a few websites first!  So, I've put together a little list accompanied by an explanation of why I love it/need to check it daily!  Enjoy and happy surfing!!
2Birds1Blog - this little gem is something I've been an avid reader of for a few years now.  One of the main writers (Meg) cracks me up - like I pee my pants.  She's hilar and I highly recommend you take a read!  They are also coming out with a new book - pretty sure I can't wait for that!
Hey Lady - as I have mentioned in the past a good friend of mine writes this blog.  I love her fashion tips and it's always a good read!
Hay Girl Hay:  I Need An Adult - this is something I've just found!  I'm obsessed.  This girl is very funny and we are so on point - we're like right on the same level!  She posts frequently - so it definitely keeps me occupied all day!
Loafers Sans Socks - again this is newer to my "repertoire".  He's just "changed" the layout of the blog and what he is going to write about, so I'm curious to see where it goes.  He posts a lot of great pics and some interesting commentary.
The Lo Down - this is Lo Bosworth's blog.  I genuinely enjoyed her on Laguna Beach, followed by her stint on then The Hills.  I find her blog to be fun and a good source for what's "hip".  And as you can see I use words like "hip", so I could use some help in that department!
Goop - I must confess - I heart Gweny!  And her appearances on Glee have only made me love her more!  She only posts about once a week, so I only check this one every now and again.  This blog isn't as much "fun" as it is insightful.  It's more of my "grown up blog" for when I feel like I need to be mature.
I'm always looking for more things to keep me occupied at work, so if you have a fav blog/website - send it my way!!
