Mishmash

Hello Hello Party People!!  How's everyone doing?!  A few things that we'll go over today!!  First...I hope you all had fabulous weekends - I know I did!
My sister came into town on Saturday and we walked around Union Square - they have this adorable famer's market on Saturdays - all local stuff.  So it was fun to just walk around and see what they had to offer!  Later on we had dinner at The Smith - umm can we talk about how delish?!  I'm still thinking/dreaming about it!  It was so good.  Afterwards we met up with Giuliana and Carrie for drinks at Cibar - I love this place.  It's a great "in between" bar when you're not quite ready for a rowdy place.  Of course following this there was only one place to go - obviously The Canal Room to see the Rubix Cubes.  Once again (if you recall the last time) - they did NOT disappoint - it was off the charts.  I seriously can't handle them and every song you just wanna throw your hand up and fist pump like the true New Jerseyian that I am!  I love every second of this place - it's just that fun.
Sunday my parents came in and we went to brunch at Bar Americain.  It's one of Bobby Flay's restaurants and again - did. Not. Disappoint.  I basically licked my plate clean.  Yes - I'm THAT girl.  We then went on to see Anything Goes - seriously if you haven't seen it - get your butts there!

This play was phenom!   As a prior tap dancer - I know "what it takes" and these people are so beyond mega talented.  I basically crying with joy/excitement during one number.  And right now the grandmother from Gilmore Girls is in it and a few other famous people.

The main character - Sutton Foster - OMG girlfriend is unbelievable!

It's a must see - just fun show!
And last night was another fun night!  We went to the Mets game - things got cray cray.  Giuliana has these amahhhhzing season tix and she wanted to take me and Carrie - unfortunately, she got sick yesterday and wasn't up for going, so we decided to invite Hazel.  We get there after I basically sweat like 8 pounds off on the subway ride over and we were searching for our seats.  Finally find them - Oh, I'm sorry…what?!  We're basically behind home plate (7th row) and slightly to the left.  We're then informed that we can get free hot dogs, chips, pretzels & popcorn in the "lounge".  You would have thought that the 3 of us had never eaten before in our lives.  We dove in there - each had about 3 rounds worth and hten were ready to watch the game.  A few beers here and there and things were getting entertaining!  Carrie was really adamant about wanting to "engage" the opposing team.  I will give her credit - she did get a lil wink & nod from Edgar Renteria - it was hilar.

We also became friends with the staff - Samantha, Phil & Al.  One of Giuliana's family friends came down to say hi and insisted on getting us more food - it was completely opposite of what we needed.  All in all it was great night and we had so much fun - it just would have been even better if Giuliana hadn't gotten sick!
So here we are - guys full disclose I'm having heart palpitations about the fall TV schedule.  I'm already behind on Gossip Girl (missed last night) and I wanted to see that new Hart of Dixie - with Rachel Bilson.  Tonight 90210 & Glee are competing and New Girl oh and let's not forget Teen Mom Check-Up with Dr. Drew!  I missed Giuliana & Bill and RHOBH the other night. I have so much to catch up on and so little time to do it without getting completely behind!!  Seriously - anxiety attack happening right now.
And I should mention that I'm in a complete womp womp mood - someone is having a birthday tomorrow and that girl is me!  I just don’t really like my birthday and kinda want it to be over.  I mean it's possibly fun for a hot second

and then it's not at all and then I'm all...

But I have a lil lunch date with my bestie and her little boy - so that will for sure make my day a lil bit better!  For now - I have a lot of TV to watch so I'll be signing off!  XOXO

Barre Bonanza

First things first - a quick update from my last post.  I decided to go balls out and text that guy - what do I have to lose?!  Just my pride, dignity, respect, self esteem, etc.  So I sent something very "breezy" Thursday night.  CRICKETS.  I have not heard AN word from him.
Once again - put myself out there - shot down.  So basically he's dead to me….moving on.
I got an email from my gym yesterday about a new "Beyond Barre" class it was demoing.
I've been dying to try one of these classes for awhile, so I figured taking a free one now might be a good idea.  Then if I hate it I won't have to wonder and if I love, I best start saving my pennies!  I signed up for the 7 am class this morning.  Upon my alarm going off at 6 am - I strongly advised myself that it would be in my best interest to go back to bed.  I sat in bed for a solid 5 minutes trying to figure out what to do.  Finally I flung myself into the bathroom and decided to hop to it and get my butt in gear!  I grabbed my bags and cabbed it across town.  The gym location is right by my work, so it made it easy.  This one is a little weird though - it's actually in a hotel (only in NYC), so you have to go through the  hotel to get up there - I was a little lost - but some poor woman took pity on me and guided me through.
Class did NOT disappoint.  It was awesome.  Only 5 of us showed up - so it was a great size.  We used the ballet bars - that Sydney - is where all of my "practicing" came into play!  Side note - one time when Sydney and I were living together, she came in my room as I was "practicing" in the mirror all of my ballet positions (from back in the day).  I wanted to see if I could remember/still do them.  When she walked in she was all "what in the world" and we still joke about it - so excuse me Sydney - who's laughing now?!  Anywho - it was great and we even did stuff on a glide board - that was a lil tricky especially so early in the morning!  All in all - great class - kicked my butt - sweated up a storm (shocking).
I went back into the locker room to start getting ready for work.  Took my shower - why the insist on only handing out basically hand towels for you to wear/dry off is beyond me - sorry I'm just a lil larger/ I needed like 4 towels.  Put on my makeup, etc go back to get dressed.  Take out the cute little outfit I packed…digging…digging…oh wait - I'm sorry…what?!  I FORGOT UNDIES AND A BRA!  I REPEAT I DID NOT BRING UNDIES OR A BRA!!!
Sheer panic came over me.  Like I'm dying.  Sweating even more.  What am I gonna do?!  I'm already running late to work - can't go back home - it's too early for things to be open yet - it was 8:25 AM!!  I can't put on the ones I wore to the gym - they were literally dripping (sweat coupled with the fact that they fell in the shower after I "hung" them over the shower door).  So I did what any respectable girl would do - I free balled it to work.  All the while arms crossed and bags over the boobs.  So ridiculous.  I got in, waited until 9 am and walked right back out and to the Gap where I purchased a bra and undies (on sale might add) and put them on in the dressing room.  So much to handle before 9:30 AM on a Wednesday!!!
I totally missed the Teen Mom finale last night - so don’t tell me what happens!!  I hope Gearry's  mom and her glasses make a few appearances and Farrah has another hissy fit about something Michael did.  Anyone watching the new shows???  Up All Night - love.  New Girl - love.  And I saw the Glee & 90210 premiers last night - off to a good start!!  CAN. NOT. WAIT. For Modern Family & Happy Endings tonight!!
Epic!!  Ok gotta run - almost through the week!!  XOXO
Oh and PS - I can barely walk after the class and I'm currently sitting at my desk with a tennis ball behind my back trying to "work out" my back situations.  So worth it though - my legs are gonna feel like rubba tomorrow!!

Challenge Accepted

So I know you're getting sick of my apologies and empty promises - but work has seriously taken over my life these past few weeks.  It's been cray cray to the max.  Sooo once again - sorry for being absentee.  Hopefully this story will help and make up for it.  It involves Giuliana, Carrie, a pair of jeans and MIA boys.

This past weekend I was overcome with not one, but two migraines.  And for all of you out there that get them - you feel my pain.  Friday night I was a disaster.   I popped more pills than I care to remember - I woke up Saturday morning feeling like a bobble head and just hoping I kicked this thing!  I did…for a little while at least.  So I ran around on Saturday - I was quite productive!  In my travels I was on a search for a pair of black skinny jeans.  I feel like these are a good fall staple.  After being in Bloomingdales for over an hour and trying on about 20 pairs of jeans, the girl, who I warned I was a "problem child", finally threw in her white flag.  She was like I'm done - I can't help you any more.  So she took me aside and whispered for me to go upstairs to the other department to see what was up there.  I did just that and found the best thing that has ever happened to me. Now I'm slightly embarrassed about what I'm about to tell you - but I feel it is my duty to share this secret.  I wound up getting the most amazing pair of "Not Your Daughters" jeans!  I shrieked even writing it!  But seriously guys - they're amazeballs. Soooo comfortable and according to Carrie - my ass never looked better!  These are the ones I got and I'm obsessed:

So that I night I wore those bad boys and my new Trina Turk shirt - I was ready to go!  Me, Giuliana & Carrie went to Centro for dinner - basically I licked my plate it was so delish!  After that we were raring to go!  We bounced around a bit then committed to a bar.  It was fun - nothing crazy.  That is when Giuliana decided to throw the gauntlet.  She challenged me to walk up to 2 guys and tell them that my jeans "were not my daughters".  CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

The next guys that walked by us - I ever so awkwardly sauntered up and this was our exchange:

Me:  Hey - what's up - so quick thing - these aren't my daughters.
Guy:  What - I'm confused what is going on
Me:  Not a big deal - just tell that girl over there that you agree- not my daughters
*Giuliana is doubled over at this point and Carrie is trying so hard not to die laughing - we think we're hilar*
Guy:  I don’t know what is going on
Me:  Seriously - this isn’t fun - just tell her "yes" and lets move on.
It started to not be funny- the guy was so dumb and not playing along at all and above all else I think he must have eaten like a bulb of garlic and washed it down with beer - he smelled so bad.  So although I accepted the challenge - it wasn't as fun as we anticipated.  Tough crowd.  Then this other group of guys came over and they were actually fun - joking around, etc. - so nice. We were getting ready to leave - my headache came back and I was not in good shape.  So as we were walking out the fun group of guys followed us and were asking where we were going.  I started to talk to one of them - he was totally cute - and he was like yah well text me and let me know where you go - maybe we can meet up.  I said great - turned around to the girls and said - awesome he wants me to text him but I don’t have his number - oh well.  WRONG!!  Giuliana & Carrie started yelling at me telling me I had to chase him down the street and get his number! CHALLENGE #2 THROWN & ACCEPTED!  I got my slow job in gear and off I went.  I didn’t even know his name I was just yelling "Excuse me!  Excuse me!"  Finally I caught up, grabbed his arm and he turned around.  Again - with such grace I sputtered something out to the affect of:  "my friends said I needed to give you my number and then you walked away, so I was just coming back to give you my number in case you wanted to call me".  My game is so on point!  He smiled and took my number and said he'd call.  So I slinked back to the girls told them I did it and they were like 2 proud parents!  I'm back in the game!  We went home and called it a night.

The next morning I actually did get a text from him at like 10 AM!  I was pretty surprised - but it was cute and we texted back and forth a bit on Sunday.  He's also a Jets fan - so we chatted about the game a bit.  BUT here's the dilemma - I haven't heard from him since Sunday!  Totally weird!  Especially since in one of the texts he basically asked me out.  So what do I do?!  Do I just forget about it and chalk it up to some guy I basically met on the street and not even go down that road of disappointment?? Or do I go balls out - CHALLENGE #3 STYLE - and text him tonight/tomorrow and then forget about it if I don’t hear from him?!  And if I do text him - what do I say??  As you can see - I hate these things and I hate being a girl in these situations.  It's the worst!  I need advice!!  Send along your thoughts!!

It's almost Friday!!  At least I have that going for me!!  XOXO

Nailed It

I forgot to mention yesterday the obsession I have with OPI's latest line.  It's called "Touring".  I got my nails done on Sunday and found it - dying.  Absolutely love it.  I'm just getting ready to start going darker on my nails - that time of year!  But I was still a little hesitant and wanted to keep some "lightness" to them - it is only the beginning of September - we have a long season ahead of us!  Sooo I went with "French Quarter For Your Thoughts" on my nails…

And for my toes I did an orangey/pink - similar to this…

I can't wait to try some of these dark new colors - I'm grossly excited for it!  Who's in?!  And tonight is Fashion Night Out - I can't wait!

I'll most likely be rubbing elbows with the Kardashians - sooo I'll try to remember "the little people" on my way up.  I'll fill you in tomorrow on what I saw and who I saw (my luck - prob no one!).  So excited!!  And I'll leave you with this...a little gem this woman I work with ACTUALLY said during a meeting...true story...straight faced... "if everything is all hetzel scketzel then I'll skedaddle early."

Labor This

Sooo there was Labor Day and all.  How were all your weekends?!  Mine was good - so happy to have that extra day off!!
No one was really here this weekend so I was kinda forced to kick it solo.  After I stopped singing various renditions of "All By Myself" - I decided to be productive and active.  I went for a run on Saturday morning.  Then took my self to the park. Wanderered around Bloomies - got a phenom deal on a new Trina Turk tank (originally $198 and I got it for $47!!)!

Then I took myself to a movie, I saw Crazy, Stupid, Love.  It was pretty good - I loved some parts - didn't love others - overall a good rental for a rainy Friday night!  Then I got home, my mom just learned how to Skype - so I was her guinea pig!  That was quite entertaining.  Sunday I got a mani/pedi, did some yoga and relaxed.  I met up with Scarlet for dinner and then the fun began!
We wandered around a bit after dinner.  Had a drink in about 3 different places - just trying to find a bar that actually had people - it was quite a fete!  Finally we settled in at Brass Monkey - it was not too crowded but after about a 1/2 hour - it was packed. Now the scene was interesting - but we were just having fun and catching up.  All of a sudden this guy sidles up next to me and sits down.  Now let me break this down for you in bullets:
-he was about 6'5"
-he was wearing a printed short sleeved button down shirt
-he had on jeans - kinda like JNCO style - kinda carpenter/cargo
-he was wearing work boots
-he could barely open his eyes
-and my fave part - he had a mustache that wasn't a mustache - basically like he just hadn't shaved but not stubble - kinda like a 5 o'clock shadow but worse.
-He kinda reminded me of Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond - but not as endearing
So now you have a picture in your head of what I'm working with.  Let's circle back to the sideling part.  He sits down and in the thickest of all thick Long Island accents says:  "do you have a boyfriend".  To which I replied no.  Then he asked if he could kiss my hand - ummm seriously?!  Is this happening.  He proceeds to grab my hand and kiss it.  So hein.  Then he tells me all of these things about how cute I am and can't I feel the attraction.  Well sir, not really!  This was our exchange for the rest of the convo (on and his name was Mike):
Mike:  So what do you do?
Me:  Explain my job
Mike:  The guy who hired you was the smartest man alive.
Me:  Actually it was a woman.  What do you do?
Mike:  I'm in construction - in LI
Me:  Cool - that must be interesting
Mike:  I gotta pee - but I'll be right back - I promise
Me:  I can't wait!
(Leaves for about 10 minutes - I thought I was in the clear - Scarlett is dying laughing now)
Mike:  Don’t worry I'm back - I told you I'd be back
Me:  Yup - never break a promise!
Mike proceeds to grab my face!! I repeat - HE GRABBED MY FACE!!
For those of you that know me know that is my BIGGEST PET PEEVE and I'm cringing even thinking about it.  I quickly pull back - disgusted - and I'm like…ugh what is going on.  He then just says he wasn't going to kiss me and he's sorry.  Why is this my life?!  He then asks for my number - via pen - I asked if it was 1997. Then he asks his friend for his phone - apparently his friend was the keeper of his phone.  He takes my number and dials it - I had my phone out so there was no escaping this.  And ever trying to be open minded - he leaves me this ridic message and for the love of God I wish I could find a way to upload it on here for you all to listen!  Scarlett and I laughed for a solid 10 minutes replaying it.  It's a gem.  Needless to say I have not responded and he has yet to call again - so I think we're in the clear!
After that debacle we headed on over to my new favorite watering hole Hogs & Heifers.

It's just everything you hoped and dreamed it would be.  We spun around the "dance floor" a few times and called it a night!  Chatted with my doorman and that was that.
Monday was uneventful - I actually realized at 9 pm that I hadn't left my building all day.  I did laundry and some other things and was semi-productive.
And yesterday I had drinks with an old co-worker and we both nearly drowned in the torrential rain.  But it was great to see her and catch up - totally worth it!  She just moved into town - so I'm looking forward to hanging out more!  And don’t worry friends - I made it home just in time for TEEN MOM!!  Here's a quick lil recap:
Basically nothing really  happened too exciting.
Farrah decides she HAS to be in Florida and that is the ONLY place for them to be happy.

I find her so irritating I don’t even like re-thinking what she did.  She talks to that child like an idiot and I'm positive that kid already knows that her mother is a moron.
Maci gets her hair did and is now a blond with long locks.

I didn't quite get the need for this transformation in the midst of Kyle's injury and trying to take care of everything  - but who am I?!  As long as she getting that school work done - that's all that matters!
Amber goes to jail and gets out.

Her and Gearrryyy can't speak or communicate.  Leah is still running around in her sleeper. And Geeaerrry's mom's glasses still won't stay on her nose.
Catelynn and Tyler have a minor tiff.  She gets all insecure about him going to the clerb.  They go to counseling and try to get through it.  In the end she goes, has fun, they grind a bit on the dance floor and all is good.
So that's that.  And I still need to watch the latest episodes of RHOBH and Rachel Zoe - we'll be back in touch about that. OHHHH and who watched the Kardashians?!  LOVEY LOVE!!  Obvi nothing was a shock, but I loved their trip and their lil proposal.  CAN. NOT. WAIT UNTIL OCT. 9TH!!

Cement Walls Generally Hurt

So someone at this wonderful establishment that I call work decided it would be a good idea to block all blogs from our viewing.

Someone please kill me now!!  Who approved this?!  WORST IDEA EVER!!
Ok - let me take a few deep breaths and then I'll be able to re-group and get a lil something out to you all.  3, 2, 1 annnd we're back!
First things first - yesterday at the gym, that guy who just sits on a bike was back.  I haven't seen him in awhile, actually let me re-phrase that - I haven't been to the gym in awhile.  But kids - he's back.  And now he's taken to literally just sitting there - there is zero movement and yesterday he was yelling at the TV screen.

I'm just not sure what his relationship is with the gym and what is happening.  Anyone have any insight?!  Is there something I don’t know?!
Second of all - Jersey Shore is back to it's old ways!  Here are a few bulleted points I'd like to address:
·       The Situation propelled himself into a concrete wall.  Let me repeat - he willingly propelled himself into a concrete wall giving himself a concussion.  Then him and Ronnie rasseled around a bit, he laid on the couch, was seeing 8 Snookie's and had to be taken away in an ambulance.  All the while everyone in the house was crying and thinking he was dying.  It was just a sprained neck and bruises.  BUT of course he needed to milk it and put on his 'ol sunglasses and neck brace and obviously his sweat pants and sulked around the house.
·       PSA - RONNIE & SAMMI ARE WHACK ATTACK!  I can't stand it.  The poop is back under Sammi's nose and the two have returned to their old ways.

Fighting over nothing and everything being completely blown out of proportion.  Tears all around and Ronnie's roid rages are back in full affect!  They are so annoying.  They disturb the whole entire house with their antics.  I actually felt Jenni's pain when she was pleading with Sammi to please go away and stop talking.  I could hear the anguish in her voice.  These two just need to get their own house so they will live in misery and leave everyone else alone.  They are so immature and ridiculous - its just getting to the annoying point - actually we're wayyyy past that.
·       Snookie's BF Jionni (pronounced - Giooooooonnnnnie) doesn’t like "sexy time talk".  She can't handle that and insists on trying to make the kid feel uncomfortable.  It was awkward all the way around.
·       Vinnie is the "Dr. Phil" of the house.  He actually does give pretty good advice.  He really put Ronnie in his place and basically told him to cut the crap and enough was enough.
I enjoyed this installment of Dr. Guido.
·       Pauly D almost got into an asinine fight with some guy that was yelling things and he didn't know what he was saying.  But thems fighting words if ever he heard them!

So glad Vinnie (once again) came to the rescue - never a need to fight!

Ok - so that about sums it up.  I hope you all have fabulous Labor Day plans!!   Enjoy the extra day off - it's much needed!! XOXO

Teen Mom Speed

Hi Friends!! Sooo there was this little thing called Hurricane Irene and seriously - she was a lil beotch! I got stuck in NJ for a few days and my parents JUST got power back - totally crazy. I was living like a pioneer and let me tell you - I was not cut out for that lifestyle!

Anywho - I've gotten back to civilization and things are starting to settle down. So without further adieu - I'll give you my latest Teen Mom recap. And PS - what the what is going down on the Jersey Shore?! It's getting hella crazy - I can't wait for tonight! Oh and PPS - who's sooo excited that Beyonce and Jay-Z are having a baby - I literally got teary eyed after her performance - sooo much love!

Ambular - You need to go away. I'm so over you and your drama. Geeary sends her like a million roses (again - where is this money coming from) and she's sitting with her latest and greatest loser beau and he gets on the phone and starts yelling at Geeary and fighting. Such WT up in this piece! I can't handle it. And then Geeary is just trying to set up his tree/rod with a few things sticking out. The poor baby is running around with (yet again) no clothes on. It's just a nightmare. Then Amber starts freaking out about not being a "family" putting up the tree.

At what stage did you think you were a family?! Was it when you were punching your baby daddy?? Going out on your umpteenth date?! Or when you were neglecting your child?! I'm just a lil confused. Seriously - pull it together gurl!

Maci - Again - kinda vanilla this week. The best part is when they were playing with Bentley (who is getting more and more adorbs by the week)

and they all had on Toy Story "costumes".

She needs to just pony up and head on back to school. Get your degree and lets move on!

Catelyn - Once again - my heart bleeds for these two. They move into another new house and hope that they'll be able to afford this one. Her dad comes back into town, after being away for 4 years. At one point her response to the question "are you excited to see him" she yells "heck yeah I am - I haven't seen him in forever".

He is seemingly the most normal parent (with exception to Tyler's mom who does try hard). I don’t know where he's been hiding and why he doesn't come around - he needs to be there for her. She needs one ounce of stability in her life. I hope he gets this job and is in fact normal and comes back and helps these two!

Farrah - Oh Farrah, my disdain for you is growing weekly. I CAN NOT handle her much longer. Talk about little beotch - girlfriend needs to check herself.

She does nothing but yell, bitch, and complain. I'm not saying her parents are amazing, they have issues, but they are depicting them to be Saints right now. I don’t know why they'd even want her to stick around - I'd send her packing on the first flight out! I think the only thing they like about her is her child. So this week Arizona is the place that she HAS to move to. Her parents tag along and she does nothing but yell at them. All the while they are paying her way, taking care of her child, and helping her. It ends with her yelling that they need family counseling to communicate (while shoving her face with food that her parents prob bought) and Michael calming (as always) agrees. I can't wait to see how this goes! This girl needs a reality check or a one way ticket!

Ok - consider yourselves up to Teen Mom speed! Can't wait to see JS tonight - epic!! XOXO
