Applebalaktic Shock

What's up on this groddy Wednesday?!  Well I've just been split your pants kinda busy lately.  Soo Sydney and I went back to our old stomping grounds this past weekend and it did not disappoint!  Our "class" all day Saturday was long and we were so over it by 3 pm, but we made it through and got some good stuff out of it.  Here's a lil recap of the rest of our weekend!
My train ride down was pretty uneventful - just the way I like it!  I had virtually no issues and just watched a movie and read my magazines.  Syndey got stuck in a boat load of traffic, so it took her about 2.5 hours to make a 1/2 hour trip to pick me up.  She finally secured me and off we went!  Our ride out was good - good to catch up and chat.  Our first whack attack experience occurred as we were stopped at a light heading into town.  This car of hoodlums motioned to roll down our window,

Sydney did and this was their exchange:
Kid:  Hey ma - you got a boyfriend
Sydney:
  What?!
Then they sped away
We finally got to campus and pulled into our luxurious hotel.  Let me explain this - it was anything but.  Here's a lil pic:
We checked in and got into the elevator.  Immediately we were in for it.  It smelled so rancid, I don’t even know how to describe it.  The doors opened, we were hoping for relief, no go - the hall smelled even worse.  And then…our room.  Sweet baby Jesus.  It was this God awful stench that I kid you not made me gag the second I opened the door.
We thought it was just "musty" and turned on the air.  Oh here's the other thing - we had no other place to go.  Everything was sold out and booked - this was our only option.  So we quickly threw our stuff down and headed to dinner.  One of our fave places - so delish!  We had to wait about an hour for a table - but it was so worth it.  After dinner we drove around campus and then headed right to Wal-Mart.  We decided over dinner that getting sleeping bags & pillows was going to be in our best interest. Best $25 I ever spent.  Sooo this is what we slept on…I had red, Sydney had blue.
When we got back, we pretty much went to bed.  We had to be up at 7 am for class, so we didn't want to do anything too wild.  Again, class was ALL day, so nothing crazy happened.  My favorite line of the day was after we got all of our "assignments" and Sydney leaned over and said "I'm going to lose my job because I'm going to be so busy leading!"
After class, we headed back to hell…I mean out hotel to change and get ready for a night on the town!  We went to our favorite place - 2 hour wait for dinner…womp womp!  BUT we were able to get a seat at the bar so that made it so much better.  An app and a few drinks later we were good to go!  Dinner was delish - despite the worst table ever that we had. Basically it was a "two top" in the middle of the aisle - so awkward.  Everyone could see you eating and just watched - we were totally "on display".  After dinner we headed back to the bar - we were both feeling pretty good!  At one point I looked at Sydney and said "did you guys hear that?!", to which she replied, "yes and I'm just one person - it's only me - no one else". Whoops!  This is also when Sydney told me she couldn't eat a certain food because she'd go into "Applebalaktic Shock".  I'm sorry - what?!  I believe you meant Anaphylactic Shock.  Heart this.  So we did some people judging and then got annoyed with the "younger folk", so we decided to change scenery.
We went into one of our old bars and I immediately had to walk out.  they still allowed smoking - inside - so gross!!  I couldn't deal for a hot second!  Then we went to the last place of the night - things sure have changed!  Drinks were only $5 - kind of amazing.  The clientele was quite different and the music was good - not the same - but good.  We saw a few people that we knew, including a guy I may or may not have made out with during college.  Sydney thought it'd be fun to talk to him…
Sydney:  Hey (hitting him on the shoulder) - do you remember us?!  I'm Sydney and this is Lizzie.
Guy:
Oh yah - I do kinda (pretending he didn't know exactly who we were).
Awkward silence
Me:
Welp - good to see you!
Shortly after we took ourselves to the late night diner we frequented oh too often as students.  Hasn't changed a bit!  Then we walked home, hopeful that we were drunk enough to not be bothered by the stench and grossness of our room.
Sunday we went to breakfast, walked around campus and then headed out.  My train home was good, despite having to sprint for it (after the changed the times on me)!
All in all it was great weekend - even with the awful hotel - it builds character!  Guys - the countdown is beginning today - Sydney, my sister and I leave for Portugal & Spain in 1 WEEK!!!  I REPEAT 1 WEEK!!!  I couldn't be more excited but I have so much to do between now and then!!  AHHHHH!!!

Just a Little Rant

So I'm struggling today to come up with a "topic".  I'm kinda in a bad mood - so I don’t really want to talk - period - buuuutttt for you all I'm trying to make an exception!!  I think I'll go with a little list of a few things:
1.  I went to the gym the other day (not going to say how long it had been) and I was done with my cardio and ready to stretch/do my sit-ups.  I go over to where the mats are and obvi it's crowded - it was like 6 pm on a Tuesday night - that's when everyone goes.  So that's fine - I find a little sliver on the mat, throw down my towel and start my routine.  I glance over to my right and there are 2 people (clearly a couple) that are literally just laying there doing nothing.  Like people  are waiting for spots - but these 2 are just laying there - kinda rolling around.  So I get back to doing what I'm doing and try to stay focused - don’t get annoyed.  About 5+ minutes later I realize that now it's just the 2 of them and me on this mat.  All like scrunched into the corner - and then they start flirty flirt and making out.  I'm sorry - this is neither the time NOR the place for this!!

I'm literally fuming at this point - who does that?!  Finally I just got up and left and some girl glanced and me and gave me a "look" when I was leaving - like can you believe them?!  People are seriously insane.
2.  I tried to get the new iPhone last night (4s) - it will be my very first one!!  And you can "reserve" them starting at 9pm the night before and then pick them up the next day.  Well it's like hella difficult to get one like this and it's so stressful.  Well of course I get access 3 separate times but freaking Apple decides not to accept my password!!!  I'm on the phone with them and they are all "yah that's the password/ID - must just be a glitch and so many people trying to do this now" - oh really - is that what it is?!

Thank you sir - now I've lost 3 phones and when you finally "fixed" it - they were sold out.  FML.
3.  I hit a taxi with my umbrella yesterday because I was angry it didn't obey the "walk" sign that I clearly had.

I mean my umbrella was open and I just let it hit into the taxi - I didn't pull a complete Britney - although I would have enjoyed that.

4.  I'm heading to my 'ole alma mater this weekend.  Color me a dork - but I was accepted into this "leadership" program that they are doing.  I loved school a lot - I know - nerd alert!  So I was really excited for this opportunity - PLUS I get to go back to campus!  AND Sydney got accepted too - look out - things are gonna get cray cray.  We've already decided that we can't go near certain areas of campus tomorrow night for fear of being "sucked in".  We have to be at our "retreat" at 8 AM Saturday morning - serious!  BUT we have nothing on Sunday so things are gonna get wild - PS its also alumni weekend - so I'll prob come back married to someone celebrating their 10 year reunion - I'm just saying.
So sorry I'm not sorry for this little rant.  It was actually quite therapeutic!  Have wonderful weekends lovelies!!!  XOXO
PS - You're welcome for this...

Little 'A This...Little 'A That

Hello friends!  How's everyone doing these days?!  It's so gross and rainy in NYC - sick!  BUT it is a great day to be a duck!!  I ordered delivery for lunch and the poor guy took out the receipt for me to sign - soaking wet!  Like I could ring it out - he just stared at me with hope in his eyes that some how I could make this better.

So who's watching RHOBH??  Shiz is getting real  up in the 90210!  I mean seriously - Brandi - needs to step off.

I really am not a fan.  Don’t get me wrong - I think Kyle can be a lil bitchy sometimes and Kim is slightly off her rocker - but Brandi is just - ugh (only thing that came to mind).

And speaking of Kim - I'm confused.  I just don’t get what is going on.  And Taylor needs to eat a burger.

And I love Lisa's new wedding coordinator - I mean he's Frank (from Father of the Bride) to a T!! Totally heart - he's so out there!

And Adrienne just remains among my faves - she's so no BS and I love her for that.  She also has a bit of I dare say "Jersey" in her - her outfits crack me up!  And the gold hair strands - LOVE HER!
And speaking of RH - ummm NJ reunion - OMG!!!  I really can't stand Teresa - you can tell she's just lying about everything.

I really  heart the rest of them - and it's now like 3 against 1.  And Caroline is so even  keeled about everything - doesn't raise her voice at all.  So calm.

I can't wait to see it Sunday night - I'm sad to hear something going on between her and her sister Dina (who I really enjoyed).  And Teresa getting in the way?!  Worst!!!
And another thing - this Gluten Free diet isn't so bad!  I've found some great products - would love some more if you have them!!  Here are a few that I've enjoyed:

And one last thing - the almond oil - still going strong.  I think it really helps!  I do recommend it!!
Ok lovelies - I'm out like shout.  Peace in the Middle East.  Rain in Spain.  Goodbye don't cry (I just made that one up - they're just flying out now!).

This Is Happening - Part Deux

Ok we're back.  Sorry for delay.  I had to volunteer at my company's "adopted school" yesterday - giving out books.  It was supposed to be an hour and then it turned into over 3…you see where I'm going with this…so when I finally got back to work things were cray to the zay.  But don't worry I was invited to a Halloween party by a 2nd grader - you can all be jealous now.

Before I get completely into the rest of the recap - can we quickly talk about the second part of Teen Mom?!  OMG!
I love Caitlyn and Tyler -

I really hope these two can make it - like not just as a couple - but full on go to college, get jobs, be successful.  Butch & April need to check themselves and grow the f-up!  I'm so sick of their shenanigans!  My  heart just breaks for these two every time I see them.
Maci -

oh Maci and Ryyun - I really think that these two are destined to be together eventually.  I do heart Kyyahl, but seriously - he still loves her and I think she still loves him.  Truth and time people, truth and time, but I just wouldn't be one ounce surprised if someday down the line - when both have grown up - they are back together.  I really think that Ryyun is growing up a bit - he seemed a tad more mature this time - so we'll see!  And I just love all the lil ones - too cute - Bentley - seriously - adorbs!

Ok - back on track…

So we left off at breakfast.  After we tried to get that down - some of us with more difficulty than others - aka  me - we went home and to ourselves ready for the day.  We had tickets for the Sex & the City tour around the city.  We got up to the meeting spot and eventually filed onto the bus.  Not one of us was all that excited to get onto a bus on that gorg day, but we did it and hoped it would be fun!  We picked our seats (Sydney sat with me and Ruby & Kit sat behind us) and we were ready for some SATC enjoyment!  A nano second after the tour guide opened her mouth - this is the reaction for the 4 of us - collectively:

Sydney:  Nope - I can't do this!

Me:  Is this happening?

Ruby:  Oh, God this is gonna be painful!

Kit:  Ugh!

Guys - cyrusly (back story on that - one night I met a guy name Cyrus and my friend and I thought it was HI-larious to say "cyrusly" the WHOLE night - he didn't find it as amusing - but cyrusly - it was hysterical) - but this girl was prob one of the most annoying people you've ever heard/met.  She was an "actress" and just so over the top.  I could.not.handle.  The tour itself was not like any of us thought it was going to be.  I couldn't tell you what I thought it would be, but this wasn't it.  It wasn't awful - just wasn't what I expected.  You made "stops" throughout the tour - Magnolia, Budakhan, Pleasure Chest, Steve's Bar (where we could get a cosmo), etc.  At the last stop we broke from the group and decided to just head home.  Of course we took a "wrong turn" and wound up in Chinatown - obviously where all the dead fish were - so disgusting.  Sydney was literally running down the middle of the street.  So gross.
Eventually we made it home and relaxed for a bit.  We opened a bottle of wine and took out some old college albums.  Best!  Some of the pics were priceless and the memories just came flooding back!  We then had to peel ourselves away and force ourselves to go out for the night!

We had reservations at Jane - which was amaze - definitely recommend!  After dinner we were ready to get our 80s throwback on.  I took them to the Canal Room - saw Rubix Cube.

At first we all were not feeling it.  It was crowded, loud, and no place to sit.  Eventually we got into it and by the time the band came on - you'd have to drag us out of there!  The band was great - minus the people around us that were completely annoying.  Just drunk messes and should not have been out in public.  We did have an amazing time, though.  I should also note that at dinner, Sydney decided that she was going to reply to all things that annoyed her by yelling "nutsack"...soooo people that were around her/annoyed her had that yelled in their ears.  Again filed under things WE think are funny, but not everyone else.  Eventually things cleared out and we were left there dancing like fools again.  Don’t worry, Kit found herself in full on Dirty Dancing - being lifted mode - nbd.

It was great.  After that we didn't want to go home, but we "couldn't stay here" - so off to my hood we went!  We found ourselves in another neighborhood bar and making a spectacle.  Although not as bad as the two girls that were literally giving out lap dances - so disgusting.  BTW - we weren't in a strip club!  Once again we busted out the "staying out way past our bedtime" and rolled in at 4 am.  Repeat of the night before - pizza was ordered and TV came on.  And just like previously - it was the best ever.
We woke up on Sunday and obvi recapped.  I of course got sad when they were leaving.  Basically there were a few tears shed after they left.

I was so sad to see them go.  It was such a fun weekend - but I know I'll see them soon!  Ruby's Dirty Thirty is right around the corner!!
Have great weekends everyone!! XOXO

This Is Happening - Take One

Is it weird that I have "Spice Up Your Life" in my head?!  No clue.  Also I had a strange encounter this morning - I was in the elevator and it was pretty full.  This woman in my building was in there, too.  She is older and known to be a lil cooky. Someone was trying to get on, so I looked behind me (it was the wall), there was NOTHING there so I stepped back and leaned against the wall.  Next thing I know this woman's arm is around my waist!  Like full on around my waist.
WTF?!  What just happened - why is this happening.  She looks at me and smiles weirdly and says "OOPS".  Wait what?!  That was not an "oops", there was nothing accidental about it.  Then thankfully the doors opened and I could escape.  Why is this my life?!
Anywho - y'all the girls came rolling through this past weekend and let me tell you - bitches be crazy.  Things got slightly out of control.  I’m going to have to break this into 2 parts.  Buckle up - it was a bumpy ride!
I woke up Saturday morning at 11 am to find Ruby next to me, Kit on the couch (sans blankets), and Sydney basically sitting straight up in the big chair/ottoman situation I have.  I stand up - can hardly move - my body just hated me - turn the corner to find my front door open.  What happened?!  Cut to the night before…
After much pacing and waiting the girls finally arrived!!  Yay!  They freshened up quick and then we were off to dinner at Neely's (such a good place - food is delish)!!  Normally our first nights are pretty low key, we realize we only have one "big" night in us, now that we are old hags.  So while at dinner we decided to have a few drinks - I think you see where this is going. Then we figured - it's NYC - we have to go out for a little bit.  So we went to this neighborhood bar - Redemption and found a table in the back.  I should also note that the first table we had to move because we were by the speakers and it was "too loud". So we went to the back and got our little area.  We got our first Red Bulls and we were off to the races!  The DJ was playing really fun music, so obvi we had to bust out our stellar dance moves.
Sydney had a "friend" that was going to meet up with us, so he arrived.  Kit and I found ourselves chatting up these 2 guys.  One was married and telling us about his little girls (they were from California - here on business) - it was nice/cute.  The other was just chatting away, buying us drinks.  He was kinda cute - so I figured - what the hell!  Then he asked me to dance….sooo to the dance floor!  About 10 minutes later he almost kissed me and I see Kit coming flying at me.  This was our exchange:
Kit:  He's married - he's freaking married!
Me:
What - no he's not - he tried to kiss me!
Kit:
He's married!!  His friend just told me!
Me:
 What?!?  There's no ring!
Kit:
YUP - he put it in his pocket!!!
Me:
  ANGER!
By the time we turned around - they were gone.  Like ran out of the bar.  So gross.  Why does this happen to me?!  I hate it - can't I just meet a normal guy?!  Why is this so hard???  Ok enough of me ranting…back to the story!
Kit, Ruby and I proceed to twirl around some more - fully taking advantage of the dance floor clearing out.  I somehow got a hold of some guys Yankees hat and took a liking to it - Sydney called me "gangsta" - I mean it's no big deal.  I was pretty bad ass.  Finally we thought it would be appropriate to go home.  Sydney felt she needed some "more time" with her "friend". Obviously I thought a huddle was the only way of dealing with this.  So we "huddled up" and "discussed".  Not sure what happened in there, but next thing me, Kit & Ruby were on our way home.  As we were leaving - we were approached by some guy who only said this:
Guy:  You girls want some coke?
Kit:
  What?!
Me:
  Is this happening?
Ruby:
  You mean like soda?
As you can see we are not well versed in these situations.  Basically we all started running.  We made it to my apartment, after a brief chat with my doorman and immediately ordered pizza.  Oh did I mention that we got home at 4:30 AM - what the what?! The pizza was amazing - best ever - obviously.  We watched Family Ties and all fell into bed around 6 am.  At 7:30 am I hear a knocking at my door - wasn't quite sure what was happening.  I open it and Sydney comes flying through yelling "This is happening"!
She then proceeds to dive onto the chair and we all went back to sleep.  Apparently sometime between then and 11 am - Ruby got up and opened the door - we think she got a little disoriented - stood by Sydney for a little bit and then got back into bed.  Hence the door being wide opened when we woke up!
OMG what a night - an amazing start to the weekend.  We all woke up looked at each other for a few minutes and collectively said - who do we think we are and why did we think we could do that?!  SLASH - best night ever!  We then got dressed and strolled out for some breakfast.  Obviously I ran into my boss and his 2 year old son - totally normal.  I was in a full on sweat suit with my hair on top of my head, no make up and looking fresh to death.  Once again - why is this my life?!
Tune in tomorrow for another installment of "THIS IS  HAPPENING"!
